The Breaking Barriers delivery stream is designed to provide women within the Australian seafood industry development and growth opportunities at a personal level, tailored to the individual needs, career paths and ambition of participants.
We have three main programs that run annually, delivered by the facilitation and leadership experts at Affectus.
Mentoring Program
This is a free facilitated 12-month Mentor Program to help women progress their careers in the seafood industry.
Mentors and mentees are invited to participate in each Program. We match women at all stages of their careers with mentors, with our professional guidance and support along the way.
2024 Turn the Tide Mentoring Program applications are now closed. The 2025 program applications will open late 2024.
Entrepreneurship and Leadership Program
This innovative online program will build your entrepreneurship and leadership skills and capabilities through various hands-on experiences.
It comprises three main components: a ‘train the trainer’ opportunity for five women to become work group facilitators, a six-month action group program to develop skills and form an action plan for a shared issue, and an annual round-table gathering to showcase results of the action group program and learn from keynote speakers.
Our experts will provide advice and guidance to help achieve your entrepreneurial and leadership goals.
2024 Entrepreneurship and Leadership program applications open soon. Click below to register for the information session for the 2024 program on the 15 February 2024.
Bursary Program
The Turn the Tide Bursary Program will provide several opportunities for women in seafood to participate in professional development programs and attend signature seafood industry events. In 2024 WISA are happy to deliver the following bursaries.
